Lingual braces are placed behind the teeth, meaning that they're an effective, and in most cases an undetectable, way to straighten your teeth.
Lingual Braces are placed behind your teeth, facing into your mouth, toward your tongue. This means no one needs to know that you are wearing braces unless you want them to.
These unique braces are made by several manufacturers. Although GAC MTM (Minor Tooth Movement) are Dr. Kanani's favorite lingual braces due to their ease of use and affordability, other brand names include iBraces, Incognito Lingual Braces, and Suresmile lingual braces. Lingual braces can provide efficient, effective tooth movement with low-profile aesthetics.
Lingual braces have been used to treat a wide variety of people, ranging in age from 13 to 60+. Of course, each case is different and whether Lingal braces are right for you depends on the amount of crowding you are experiencing, as well as other dental factors. Our orthodontists can tell you if lingual braces are a good treatment option for you during your initial consultation. If you are not a candidate for lingual braces, you may still be a candidate for Invisalign® treatment, or clear cosmetic braces which are also very aesthetically pleasing.
Lingual braces are ideal for people who would like to avoid damage to the front surfaces of their teeth or those who are concerned about wearing braces that show. Adult professionals, musicians who play wind instruments and adults and teens playing contact sports tend to be ideal candidates.
