In-Ovation System Braces: The Pros & Cons

In-Ovation System Braces: The Pros & Cons

In-Ovation System self-ligating braces are great for patients who want a more streamlined look, and gentler approach, to orthodontic treatment. Here are some factors to consider before choosing this option!

In-Ovation is one of many advances in orthodontics that have taken place in recent years. But no matter how advanced the technology, the best treatment choice for any give person will depend on that person's individual needs.

How to Tell if In-Ovation is a Good Choice for You

One of the benefits of self-ligating braces is that they are quite a bit smaller than traditional braces, because they use a sliding mechanism instead of bands or ties.

We find that our In-Ovation braces wearers experience less friction against the insides of their mouths when they first get braces due to their smaller size. The smaller size also makes self-ligating braces a bit easier to clean than traditional braces.

Another potential benefit is that sometimes treatment with self-ligating braces can be shorter in duration than treatment with regular braces.

Not counting the above factors, self-ligating braces are pretty similar to regular braces, and even the difference in treatment duration isn’t significant.

Please also note that though prices vary from place to place, self-ligating braces are usually more expensive than traditional braces are. It's up to do you balance the difference in price with the added convenience and lower profile of In-Ovation braces, and decide if they're right for your needs.
